There are two options on how to record bulletins when you’re in the Shock Radio studios:

There’s no requirement for anyone to do either and you don’t have to stick with it every time you are covering bulletins. Doing bulletins live is easier to set up, but there’s only one take.

For both, you’ll also need to use an Ingest PC. You will also need the hotkey bank called “NEWS”. As you open Zetta, the hot keys are on the left hand side.

You can access the “NEWS” hotkey bank by either selecting the drop-down menu just above the coloured buttons and finding “NEWS”, or using the shortcut button pictured above, which is in the “HOME” hotkey bank.

Live Bulletins

You will need to drag the “LIVE” bed into the log in Zetta. To do that, click and hold the hotkey labelled ‘LIVE’ and drag it into the hour you’ll be doing the bulletin, right below the “Top of Hour”.

From there, get ready for your hour by writing your script. Make sure you communicate with the show’s presenters as they will need to know what you’re doing.

Pre-Recorded Bulletins

Firstly, you will need to drag hot keys into the log for the bulletin. They are labelled, so Pre-Rec 1 goes just under “Top of Hour”, followed by Pre-Rec 2, 3, and 4.

The log on the right should look like the picture below:

You will then need to move to the studio next door to Pre-Record your bulletin.

Double-click on “SR Local News - PRE REC 2” in the log, which will bring up this window:

You will need to click the red Record button, and in the next menu, press “Yes” to overwrite audio. Make sure the mic is turned on using the Zetta A fader.
